Álvaro Aponte-Centeno has a Master degree from the University of Puerto Rico in Communications. He directed 3 awarded shorts films: Luz (2010), Mi Santa Mirada (2012) and Yahaira (2015). Mi Santa Mirada was selected in Competition at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. With his new project, El Silencio Del Viento, Áponte-Centeno won the 1st prize at the 2nd Ibermedia Workshop of Film Projects and got the international film fund Aide Aux Cinemas du Monde from the CNC in France, Ibermedia and Doha grant. He is now in post-production of the film, due to premiere in a festival in Fall 2017.
